Charleston, WV Newborn Photographer | Mile’s Newborn Session
Out of my
Comfort Zone
First, I want to start off by saying that this boy’s mama pushed me to venture out of my usually very neutral tones, to try some dark jewel toned backdrops. And… I’m SO glad she did! How beautiful is this hunter green?
This sweet boy’s nursery is done in a woodland theme and has a lot of dark greens and blues, so of course we had to do images to suit!
Grey
To start Miles’ session off, we went with the perfect neutral. Grey.
This family decorates their home with a lot of whites and greys, so we wanted to make sure to create some art that would go well with the living areas throughout their home.
Hunter Green
Then we moved onto a beautiful hunter green for a few different poses. Most of my clients love the froggy pose! (The one that he’s holding himself up in his hands)
Did you know that that image should ALWAYS be a composite? Meaning that it is actually two images edited together to make one. In the first image taken to create the froggy, I held his wrists to make sure he wouldn’t startle and fall over. Then for the second, his mama lightly held his head for the same reason while I took my hand away from his wrists. Afterwards, I edited the two images together to “erase” our hands. Pretty cool right?
Be sure to look into the photographer while you’re deciding on who will document your sweet new baby’s newborn stage. Have they gone through safety courses? This for me is a huge deal. Newborn safety is of the utmost importance to Haley B. Photography!
Anyway, which pose is your favorite? Be sure to let me know if there are any specific poses that are important to you when you contact me to plan your session.
Blue
After the green, we moved on to this gorgeous dark blue. I loved this color because it really puts every bit of the focus on sweet Miles! So simple and timeless.
Parent Shots
Once I got all of Miles’ solo portraits finished up, we did a few of him with each of his parents. I just love how these pictures show how small he really is. How precious and snuggly is he in his parent’s hands, ugh! It is so crazy how fast they grow.
Are you thinking of booking your own
Newborn Session?
I always suggest to my clients that they not wait to reach out! I am booking into April of 2022 and my books are filling up quickly. If you would like to book a newborn session with me, go ahead and reach out today. Newborn sessions are scheduled tentatively until baby is born. Then once you’re settled in at home, you’ll just shoot me a text and we will select a date that works for your family to come in for the actual session. So you don’t have to worry about the baby coming early or late.
