Charleston, WV Maternity, Newborn, and Family Photographer | The Studio
I thought it was finally time to make a blog post to show you what my studio is like BEFORE you get here. That way everyone knows what to expect before their session, and knows exactly the environment that their sweet new baby will be in for his/her portrait session. Sooo, here we go!
Fully Stocked Prop Closet
If you’re worried about what you’ll need for your session, don’t! I have absolutely everything we could possibly need to create a beautiful gallery of your baby and family, right here in the studio! Well, besides any heirlooms/personal items you want to see incorporated, that is.
From wraps, layers, backdrops, felted stuffies, bowls, buckets, and more! It’s all right here, ready for your little one.
Posing Station
Here is where your sweet little one will be the majority of his/her newborn session. Lot’s of snuggly blankets and layers to snuggle up in! It’s where I create nearly every image that goes into my galleries.
Here are some examples!
Doesn’t she look so snuggly and warm?
Where You’ll Be
This is where you’ll spend the majority of your baby’s session. You can sit and relax, while watching me gently pose your little one. You can even snap a few behind the scenes style pictures on your phone if you’d like!
You will be needed for a few poses though, as you saw in the above examples of images. I like to incorporate parent’s/siblings hands into some shots to show just how tiny the new baby is! The “froggy” pose also calls for some parental help. You’ll stand nearby and support baby’s head for one of the two shots it takes to composite that image into one! And of course you’ll be in some family style portraits if you choose to be as well.
And that wraps up my cozy studio space!
