When I tell you this sweet girl’s mama was the definition of excited for her newborn session, I mean it!
It’s always such a joy for me when I know that my clients are truly happy to be having their newborn’s session done. It makes my job so much more satisfying when I know before I even finish the session that they’re going to just
LOVE
their images.
Dad’s Favorite… Yellow
To get this session started, we began with this beautiful honey yellow just for her daddy! When planning my newborn sessions, I always ask my clients if there are any specific colors they would like incorporated into their baby’s pictures. That way I can tailor each session to fit all of my clients perfectly.
Don’t you just love this color on sweet Jocelyn? I think it suited her so well!

Purple for Mama
Once we finished up with the yellow, we moved on to this absolutely beautiful purple.
This was a brand new backdrop that I had been dying to use so I was super excited when Sami told me her favorite color is purple!
And goodness I can hardly deal with that sweet little pout in this next image.
Beige
Anddd, since I specialize in heirloom artwork, I always throw in at least one neutral into almost all of my sessions. That way you can decorate your home with your sweet baby no matter what colors you decide to decorate with in the future.
Since this mama decorates her home with a lot of browns I decided to go with this beautiful light beige to compliment the decor already throughout her home, while still making sure that it would go well with any other colors she may decide to add to the browns.
Family Portraits
In my opinion it’s hard to beat the family portrait portion of my newborn sessions. There is just something so sweet about posing a family together with their tiny new baby. Seeing the pride and love that new parents have through their images warms my heart.
It’s these images that will mean so much to this precious girl one day when she is grown up and showing them to her own babies. Won’t it be so fun for them to see their grandparents looking so young, holding their infant mother.

Sami ended up investing in two sets of my accordion mini albums (6 total albums!) for family members, a beautiful 16x20 floating framed canvas, her absolute favorite images in high resolution files, and all of the folios off the wall.
